The ACFR was founded in 1965 by members of the St-Jean-Baptiste Parish of Regina. It was born out of a need for the French-speaking community of Regina to have fun in French and to provide services and contribute to the expansion of the French-speaking community of Regina.
The Fransaskois flag was created at the end of the 1970s. It is the first French-speaking flag in Western Canada and it well represents the fervor of the original Fransaskois and the many adopted Francophones.
